It wasn’t actually my idea, it was my supervisor’s, so she applied for funding to study it, and then when she got the funding she was allowed to hire someone to work on the project (and hired me). But, she got the idea because some studies found that Lego skills are related to spatial skills, and some other studies found that spatial skills are related to maths. And so she wanted to see whether that meant that Lego skills are related to maths, because if so, we might be able to train kids on Lego to get them to be better at maths. Because most kids find Lego more fun than maths, this could be a fun way to improve maths!
