Question: Who or what inspired you to be a child and education phycologist?

Hi there, thanks for the question.
I was lucky enough to go along to a talk at my uni by someone who worked as an ‘Ed Psych’ (as we are often nicknamed). I liked the sound of her role and it inspired me to find out more about the training.
I would say if you were interested at all in finding out more about this role for your own career you could see if there is an EP linked to your school/college and ask if you can have a chat about their role.
You could also look up the BBC series Child of Our Time by Robert Winston and/or BBC4’s Growing Children, feat. Laverne Antrobus (Child and Educational Psychologist) – both were on a few years ago but they may still be available. More recently, The Secret Life of 4 year olds… All of these are interesting to watch although not quite the everyday role! But then I’m not on TV!!
