Hahaha well if I had to pick a scientific catchphrase, maybe “but what is that EVEN really measuring?” – it’s the question I ask most often when I’m hearing about or reading about anyone’s research.

Well…I teach at the University of Bristol and some of my previous students have told me that my catchphrase is “…but what does that mean???”

I like this one! I think mine would be, ‘link it back to the question’ because I’m forever telling my students that it’s all good making their point, explaining and evaluating it (like the PEE system in English), but you MUST link back to the question and show how it’s relevant.

Haha my friends always joke about the way that I say “so…” before I am about to tell a MASSIVE story. Or, I say “Beatrice story time” and that means I have gossip!

I probably say “that’s interesting, let’s think about that” quite a lot – but that’s what I’m there to do!
