Not at all! A lot of my role as an academic is about effective team work as a department, playing to people’s strengths and ideas they can bring to the table. I am effective and engaging with students and supporting them. I can plan courses and write content in a coherent way, but I would always want the rest of the teaching team I am working with the OK this. I’m very much about effective collaboration, otherwise life as an academic could get quite lonely (especially if you were doing lab based work)

I definitely don’t think I’m the best at all aspects of my job. I’m regularly reminded of how much more I have to learn as I’m in a new field of developmental psychology that is quite different from what I did during my PhD. But what I do know is that my strengths, particularly in open science, will be really helpful in this project, and I am the best at that stuff.

There are so many amazing scientists out there, it’s difficult to say who is the best! I definitely try my best and that’s the most important thing to me. As long as I am happy with the quality of my work, then I think I am doing my best 🙂

Oh no way! There are so many other educational psychologists that I really admire. I think I’m good at my job but there is always so much to learn and develop.
