I’ve always been interested in these kinds of things, so I enjoy reading and generally finding out about them. I definitely identify myself as a feminist, I also firmly support the #MeToo movement. I’m also interested in Buddhism and Paganism in general, also aspects of Christianity I think are really interesting. I also like reading essays by philosophers 🙂

You don’t hear so much about the Every Child Matters (ECM) movement now – one which came about from a review of child protection services and a recognition that we all needed to work in a more joined up way to ‘strive for 5’ (a reference to the 5 outcomes set by the then Gov’t for all children). ECM is still very relevant today, what with the record numbers of low-income families using foodbanks, so perhaps one could argue it is even more relevant now, nearly 2 decades on. I use the ECM framework as a guide to my work when setting outcomes for the children and young people I work with so that they can be supported to 1. be healthy, 2. stay safe, 3. enjoy and achieve, 4. make a positive contributon and 5. achieve economic well-being.
